Scrumptious Tag

Scrumptious bottle tag. Cheerful Tags Framelits and Here's to Cheers stamp set. Stampin' Up! SU Staci Rivera

Here is a fancy tag that I made for a bottle of infused olive oil. I really like the tag framelit in the Cheerful Tags Framelits Dies.

The tag is two layers- the first is Mint Macaron and the top layer is Presents and Pinecones Designer Series Paper. I put the cardstock layer underneath to give it some extra strength.

The swirls of glimmer paper are also created from the Cheerful Tags framelits.

Fall Wreath

Lovely Fall Wreath made with Swirly Scribbles and Flourish thinlits by Stampin Up. Staci Rivera

I had such a fun time making a pumpkin yesterday using the Swirly Scribbles thinlits that I thought I would try a wreath today.

I used the Flourish thinlits (again) to make the flowers and other branches.

I used the fall wreath that I have as inspiration. It has a similar layout with flowers at the bottom and a bow on top.

Since I used swirly scribbles for today’s card and yeserday’s, let me share what the creative team at Stampin’ Up! came up with for this thinlit set:

It’s cute and completely floral! I think I took it in a different direction.

It’s time for Pumpkins

Fun Fall Pumpkin card. Swirly Scribbles, Flourishing Phrases, Flourish thinlits by StampinUp. Staci Rivera

I love fall! One of my favorite things to do in the fall is visit Apple Annie’s Orchard and Pumpkin farm with my family. This Tuesday we took our annual trek out to pick a pumpkin. Have you ever seen pumpkins in the field? Here is a photo I took:

Pumpkin Patch by Staci Rivera at Clever Bow Tie Designs. Used as inspiration for a fall pumpkin card.

I usually take a lot of pumpkin photos- the photographer part of me could spend hours photographing pumpkins and produce but I probably have quite the portfolio from years past so I didn’t spend a lot of time this year. So this year, the above photo was my inspiration for today’s card.

Fun Fall Pumpkin card. Swirly Scribbles, Flourishing Phrases, Flourish thinlits by StampinUp. Staci Rivera

I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to create the pumpkin and the Flourish thinlits to create the leaves and vines. I did trim the vine flourish back so it doesn’t include the flowers.

I used watercolor paper and washed it with color to create the Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive background. I think this is my second card using watercolor paper- it’s getting easier to use.

I finished up with a sentiment and linen thread. What do you think? Leave me a comment below. It makes me wish for cooler weather. Here in Tucson, the mornings are nice and cool but it heats up to shorts weather by noon.

Have a cleverly creative day!

Washi Tape Thank You

Moroccan Washi, Rose Wonder for a Masculine Thank You Card. Stampin Up SU Staci Rivera

This card came together so quickly! This is obviously meant for a guy but with a swap of colors and washi tape it could easily become a feminine Thank You.

And I have to do a shout out for Stampin’ Up! washi tape. I have a small fish bowl full of washi tape. I like to use it to mark my journals and planner. I also use it to stabilize my framelits when I run them through the Big Shot because I don’t own a magnetic plate yet. (YET! It’s on my wishlist.) Well, I grabbed some generic washi from my fish bowl and would you know that the washi had no stick at all? None! Fooey! So I had to grab another roll.

I have used both Stampin’ Up! and generic and I feel that Stampin’ Up! washi is of a better quality. I am speaking from experience not because I am trying to sell you on Stampin’ Up! but hey, it’s what I do….

The sentiment is from Rose Wonder. It has lots of wonderful phrases in it. I plan to make some floral cards this week. There are lovely samples floating about Pinterest.

This set also has matching framelits which I did not use on this card but be sure to check those out too. They are called Rose Garden Thinlits.

Birthday Biker Wishes

Motorcycle Birthday Card. One Wild Ride. Stampin' Up! SU Staci Rivera

Today I created another card with the One Wild Ride stamp set. This time I went with Emerald Envy and neutrals- Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Smoky Slate.

Motorcycle Birthday Card. One Wild Ride. Stampin' Up! SU Staci Rivera

The black striped piece is from the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper that is on the clearance rack. It is marvelous paper with solid colors and an embossed portion and the other sheets are the white with embossing so you can color them the color you like. Pretty neat. Anyway….I was looking for something else and saw this piece of DSP and new it was the one. If you want some of your own get over to the clearance rack and get some before it’s gone.

Here is a card created by Stampin’ Up! It has nice flare:

And here is the card I posted yesterday:

From these three card projects you can really see the possibilities. I intend to make some more cards with this set soon.

Birthday Card for the Global Design Project

Today I am playing along with the Global Design Project. This week is a sketch challenge:

gdp058

Here is the card I created:

Motorcycle Birthday Card. One Wild Ride. Stampin' Up! SU Staci Rivera

I was excited to use the motorcycle from the One Wild Ride stamp set. This set is perfect for the guys in your life. And of course, in the right colors could be used for the female bikers in your life too.

I used Tangerine Tango and Black as a nod to Harley Davidson.

Noel Card

Noel card. Christmas Pines stamp set and watercolor paper. StampinUp SU Staci Rivera

I used the Christmas Pines stamp set to create a watercolor picture. It was my first time experimenting with the watercolor paper.

I like the simplicity of the card and I enjoyed the process of trying something new. I have seen many beautiful cards using stamps and watercolor paper but I probably won’t be the fore-runner in this style. LOL! I still have a lot of practicing to do….

Christmas Cookie Reindeer

Christmas Cookie Reindeer Card. Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and punch, Candy Cane Lane suite. Staci Rivera StampinUp

I really like the layout of this card! I designed it as a Make n’ Take for an in-home workshop with friends.

Did you recognize the punch for the reindeer? It’s the cookie cutter punch upside down. Ha! Isn’t that cute?

I felt like the sentiment went perfectly with the gum drop washi tape.

I used quite a few products from the Candy Cane Lane suite on p.4 -7 of the holiday catalog. I really like this suite. It’s so cute!

I popped up most everything on this card. Pop-up dots don’t stick well on the glimmer paper. So here’s my tip- put a glue dot between the pop-up dot and the glimmer paper to give it something to grab onto.

Here is another design using the Cookie Cutter Christmas set.

Sparkle Pines Christmas Card

Simple and lovely Christmas Card. Christmas Pines Stamp set, Pretty Pines Thinlits. Staci Rivera SU Stampin’ Up!

This is a simple Christmas card that I created as a Make n’ Take for one of my card club classes that I recently had. I always like to include a strong and simple layout that can be used again as a template for other cards. Can’t you see this card layout used as a sketch for other cards?

Simple and lovely Christmas Card. Christmas Pines Stamp set, Pretty Pines Thinlits. Staci Rivera SU StampinUp

The green sprigs come from the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies. My tip of the day- before attaching to the card, use just a touch of washi tape to adhere the sprigs to each other in a configuration you like.

Fun Christmas Card for the Global Design Project

Fun Christmas Card with Santa's Sleigh and Here's to Cheers. #GDP057 StampinUp!

Do you ever design cards in colors other than Green and Red or an occasional, blue and silver? Oh, I do! I do traditional color choices most often but I also really fancy monochromatic schemes paired with silver or gold. For example this year, our Christmas tree will be decorated in Purple and Gold.  It seems like it is becoming vogue to use other colors in place of more traditional greens and reds…so when I saw the Global Design Project’s color challenge this week I new it was time to try pushing the Christmas card color boundaries.

gdp057

Isn’t that a great combination of colors? I do love color challenges.

Fun Christmas Card with Santa's Sleigh and Here's to Cheers. #GDP057 StampinUp

As you can see- I was in the mood for a collage of elements and some stitching. My thread choices match Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride.

Fun Christmas Card with Santa's Sleigh and Here's to Cheers. #GDP057 StampinUp

The pretty swirly Blushing Bride piece is cut using the Cheerful Tags Framelits. Those framelits match the Here’s to Cheers stamp set that I used on the masculine Congrats cards I showed this week.

Fun Christmas Card with Santa's Sleigh and Here's to Cheers. #GDP057 StampinUp

The tree and “Merry Christmas” sentiment are from the Santa’s sleigh bundle (stamp set and thinlits.)

Couldn’t leave off the metallic gold thread- it ties in the strip of gold foil sheet well. That was almost a play on words!

So what do you think? Is this gorgeous color challenge Christmas approved? Let me know what you think in the comments below. Thank you for stopping by and head over to the Global Design Project and see lots of other fantastic inspiration.

Have a cleverly creative day!
