Candy Gift Box Tutorial

Christmas Candy Treat Box and Tutorial. Cookie Cutter Christmas and Candy Cane Christmas stamp sets. Staci Rivera StampinUp SU

A few weeks ago I posted a similar Christmas treat box. My original post with the story behind it can be found here.

I spent some time this week working up a tutorial video that demonstrates my version of this treat box starting with a 8.5 x 11 inch piece of cardstock.

I have not made many of these videos and as a perfectionist, they are never quite what I want them to be but I figured it would still be helpful. I hope you enjoy the video and it helps you make your own cute little boxes.

Here is more helpful information for the box. This will make sense after watching the video.

Starting with a 7 3/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock…

On the short side (7 3/4” side):

Score at  1/2″       1 7/8″       5 7/8″      7 1/4″

On the long side (11” side):

Score at  1/2″       1 7/8″       3 1/4″      4 5/8″     8 3/8″     10 3/4″

Also score at 6” to 2nd line from both ends.

Then turn the paper 90 degrees counter clockwise, then score at 1 1/4 to 2nd line.

Score marks should look like this:

Score lines for the Treat Box Template using 8.5x11 inch cardstock. Staci Rivera Stampin' Up!

And this is probably the most helpful visual- the actual template on top of the score lines. Use this as a guide to know what to cut away.

I have decorated this box using the Cookie Cutter Christmas and Candy Cane Christmas stamp sets paired with the Presents and Pinecones DSP.

On the back, I created a decorated panel for the message:

Here are the measurements given in the video for the pieces of paper that I covered the box with.

Small Squares: 1 1/4” x 1 1/4”  (cut 2)

Box top and front: 1 1/4” x 3 7/8” (cut 2)

Main panel (behind Santa) : 2 1/4” x 3 7/8”

Back Message panel: 3 5/8” x 3 7/8”

I hope all of that information makes sense and that you enjoy making your own. If you grab a scrap piece (a generic piece) of cardstock or 2 and follow along with the video, I think you’ll have an easy time of it.

This box has become a big hit at my house and my two boys have made an assortment of them.

Stars and Sleigh Christmas Card

Christmas card featuring the Santa's Sleigh bundle. Staci Rivera Stampin Up SU

Isn’t this sleigh great?

This is a rather simple card that came together quickly. I cut the little stars out of the copper foil sheets using the star framelit included in Santa’s sleigh thinlits. The foil sheets in little bits like this is just fabulous! Give them a try. They are so affordable! Only $4 for two 12×12 sheets. That will get you through a lot of projects. The foil sheets are available in Gold, Silver, or Copper.

And aren’t those little pinecones adorable? I have a container of them and had been saving them for just the right project. LOL! Do you do that too? Save the items in your stash for just the right occasion?

Thanks for stopping by! Have a cleverly creative day!

Floral Thanks

Simple Bright Thank You card. Jars of Love stamp set bundle. Staci Rivera, Stampin Up! SU

Does this card look familiar? I used the design from yesterday’s card. I changed the sentiment and colors but the design is precisely the same.

The “thanks” sentiment and the flower are part of the Jars of Love stamp set.

Simple Thanks

Clean and Simple Thank You card. Jars of Love stamp set bundle. Staci Rivera, StampinUp SU

I have some wonderful customers and I want to be sure that they feel appreciated. I do not take their orders lightly or for granted. To show my appreciation I whipped up a quick batch of thank you cards.

The sentiment is from a stamp set called “Best Decision Ever.” The stamp set is only available to demonstrators. If you are interested in joining my team, please contact me and we can talk about the many benefits.

Candy Cane Lane Christmas Treat Box

Candy Cane Lane Treat Box. Candy Cane Christmas and Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp sets. Staci Rivera, Stampin' Up! SU

I showed off a Christmas treat box yesterday that featured the Presents and Pinecones paper. Today my box features the Candy Cane Lane designer series paper. I really think these boxes are darling.

I am on an unexpected trip today and will be out of town for the next couple of days. I have a craft fair next week and had hoped to get a bunch of these ready. I might be working into the night when I get back home. LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a cleverly creative day!

Candy Gift Box

Gift box for Ferrero Rocher candy. Cookie Cutter and Candy Cane Christmas stamp sets. StampinUp SU Staci Rivera

Isn’t this candy gift box adorable? This box holds 3 Ferrero Rocher chocolates AND a gift card! How cool is that?!

A good friend saw this box online and shared it with me. I modified the instructions to work with 8.5 x 11 paper and made a few other small adjustments to my liking. I hope to get the instructions here on my blog soon but right now I am a little swamped getting ready for Stampin’ Up! convention. (So excited!!!) Click here for the original box that I modified.

I used the Presents and Pinecones DSP to decorate the box. It is part of the paper special right now. Buy 3 DSP paper packs and receive one free. Click here to go to my online shopping site and see what is included.

The Santa is from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and the saying is from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set. They pair perfectly for this type of box.

I plan to make variations of these for a craft fair I am participating in during November. They are fun to create on an assembly line. I look forward to sharing more photos soon.

Here is the back. It has space for a greeting and a little spice with the strip of DSP. And I have to say, I missed something. There is supposed to be a half circle punched out back here so you can easily get the gift card out. Ooops! I’ll be sure to correct that later.

I hope you enjoyed my project today!

Have a cleverly creative day!

Wedding Wishes Card

Wedding Wishes Card. Floral Phrases stamp set. StampinUp SU Staci Rivera

Hi, Friends! Thanks for stopping by! I have a very simple wedding card for you today.

Wedding Wishes Card. Floral Phrases stamp set. StampinUp SU Staci Rivera

I combined Petals and Paisleys Specialty DSP and a sentiment from the Floral Phrases stamp set. The specialty paper is Very Vanilla with Copper dots on it- it’s very pretty in person.

The border around the polka dots is the Copper Foil Sheets. I just love the foil sheets!

Do you ever wonder where I get my inspiration? It comes from all kinds of places. This particular card was inspired by a card I received from a demonstrator in my upline, Lisa Pretto. She has wonderful cards on her blog, InkBig Academy Stamps.   Here is her card:

CASE inspiration. Perfect Card Sketch. Lisa Pretto

It is a great card to be used as a sketch. My dimensions are a little different because I used an A2 sized card instead of a note card. That change alone, gives the card a different look.

Of course, with a few other changes it looks like a completely different card. Isn’t that fun? I challenge you to try this concept for yourself. Start with a simple layout and substitute items from your stash. It’s a great way to get the creative juices flowing!

Star of Light Christmas Card

Simple and Elegant Christmas card. Star of Light Stamp set bundled with Starlight Thinlits StampinUp Staci Rivera

The Star of Light stamp set and matching framelits are one of my favorites this year.

I started this card by layering the star on top of several layers from the lots of layers framelits dies.

Simple and Elegant Christmas card. Star of Light Stamp set bundled with Starlight Thinlits StampinUp Staci Rivera

As I pushed those layers around my table I felt like it needed more- my original intention was to just place those in the middle of the card but it wasn’t enough.

Adding a silver doily, thread, and sequins turned out to be the perfect touch.

The first layer looks a bit like Smoky Slate but it is actually vellum.
