Update on my Life (and a Daydream project too)

I really enjoy being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. It has so many wonderful benefits. Due to some recent major family changes (all good,) I have had to evaluate my current situation and level of involvement as part of the Stampin’ Up! team. Some of you know bits and pieces of this depending on if you are on my customer email list….but I thought it would be good to put it on my blog for the occasional person that might find me via Pinterest or by some other means.

In December, my husband was accepted as the Senior Pastor for a church in Picture Rocks, Arizona (Praise Center Assembly of God.) We are so excited! With this new position, it meant moving our family and changing schools and gaining a new church family. It has been a wild ride! We are still adjusting to new responsibilities and all of these changes. I have been helping with various ministries as we revitalize our church. I am the interim Youth pastor and have been overseeing the Women’s ministries. In light of all these changes, I can’t keep up with card classes and this blog and all of the things I want to be doing as an active demonstrator. After spending time praying and thinking over everything, I have decided to concentrate my efforts on family and church ministry. I will most definitely continue with Stampin’ Up! because I just can’t be without it and I still love to make cards and scrapbook pages as a creative outlet but my presence here on this blog will have to dwindle. I imagine that I will continue to post an occasional project but it will be less frequent.

I will still be putting in orders so let me know if you need anything but my emails and posts probably will be few and far between.

Thank you for all of your kind comments and support throughout this journey of mine. I have felt lots of love from you all! Thank You!

And just for fun….Here is a recent project I made using items from the Sale-A-Bration and Occasions catalogs.

Daydreams, Cupcakes, and Carousels card by Staci Rivera using Stampin' Up products

I kind of made the card daydream-y because of the saying. I really enjoy the Cupcakes and Carousels paper stack. It is really versatile and I’m glad it is part of my stash.

Sweet Valentine Boxes

Love Treat Boxes created with Sealed with Love stamp set and suite from Stampin' Up! Staci Rivera SU

Aren’t these valentine boxes adorable? These were made by my good friend, MJ. She shared with them so I could show them off at a recent class I had.

MJ loves to find super cute projects like this one and then share them with me. I was so excited to see this small stash she created. I can’t receive credit for making these but I still thought they are totally worth sharing.

Each box is made using the scalloped tag topper punch and the Sealed with Love suite. I just love how it is so easy to make each box unique by embellishing with different elements from this suite.

Here is a closer look:

They are cute and tiny boxes. You can fit a few valentine’s chocolates in each one.

The tutorial to create the box itself is available from Angie Kennedy Juda at her blog, Chick n Scratch. Check out www.mychicknscratch.com for more details. It is the Sealed with Love online class. It is under Bella’s Bundle #1.

Thanks for taking a look. Let me know what you think in the comments below. I hope this project has inspired your valentine’s projects.

I really like the little arrows from the Love Notes framelits! So cute!

I created this darling card for my January card class. I just love getting together with my friends for class!

I think the girls really enjoyed this simple and easy to duplicate layout.

This stamp set has coordinating framelits. They made it so easy for me to cut out and pop-up the little hearts.

I have started to become a big fan of the silver glimmer paper. Adding little pieces of sparkle like this just helps the card to pop!

Uplifting card and gift box created with Lift me Up stamp set and Urban Underground paper from Stampin' Up! Staci Rivera SU

I created a card to give to my husband with a “just because I love you” kind of sentiment. It’s a “thinking of you” type of card. I also included a small gift and made a custom box that coordinated with the card.Uplifting card created with Lift me Up stamp set and Urban Underground paper from Stampin' Up! Staci Rivera SU

I paired the Lift Me Up stamp set with products from the Urban Underground suite. Everything is made with new goodies from the Occasions catalog.

I just love the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder! I placed a layer of vellum over a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock in order to tone down the brightness of the blue.

I also used the new watercolor pencils to color the hot air balloon. What a great new item! I am really excited about the watercolor pencils.

Gift box created with Urban Underground paper from Stampin' Up!

I made this cute little box too. It’s custom sized to fit the gift perfectly. It was fun to make.

What’s inside the box? A bow tie!

Bow Tie Box created by Staci Rivera at cleverbowtie.com using Urban Underground paper from StampinUp

My husband and I are fans of Doctor Who and the 11th doctor always sported a bow tie. Now my husband likes to sport them too. I thought it was perfect for a little “pick me up” kind of gift.

As an interesting side note- if you are already a Doctor Who fan you probably picked up on this…but my blog name is from references to the 11th Doctor. Clara Oswald would say, “Run you clever boy and remember.” And now with that tidbit, on to the next stop-

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for December 2016. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

Sparkle and Shine. Starlight Thinlits. Staci Rivera SU StampinUp

When I thought of sparkly and shiny projects the first idea that came to me was a Christmas tag. I decided to stay with silver, gold, and white throughout for an elegant look.

Sparkle and Shine. Starlight Thinlits. Staci Rivera SU Stampin Up

I paired the silver and gold foil sheets for the main star.

Sparkle and Shine. Starlight Thinlits. Staci Rivera SU Stampin Up

Other elements that give this project sparkle- silver glitter ribbon from the Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack, gold metallic thread, and Metallic Enamel Shapes. I also used the wink of stella brush (clear) to add a little sparkle to some of the stars on the tag base. The tag base is made from the Fancy Frost Specialty paper.

For the last bit of sparkle, I dangled a charm from the ribbon. The charms will be available in the occasions catalog that will be released next month. They are called Falling In Love Embellishments. I really look forward to the release of the occasions catalog.

Lovely Christmas Tree

Lovely Christmas Tree Card using the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits. Staci Rivera SU StampinUp

I made a similar card a few months back and I just loved it, so I thought I would make another, but use traditional Christmas colors this time.

I paired the Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper stack with the Santa’s Sleigh thinlits and Cheerful Tags Framelits.

My card rounds out nicely with the stitching. I take cardstock swatches to the store so I can buy coordinating sewing thread.

Here is the original card that I made:

I still favor this one and and will possibly make a few duplicates to send out at Christmas time.

Let me know which card you like better in the comments below. Thank You!

Elegant Sympathy Card

Flourishing Phrases Stamp set and thinlits for an elegant sympathy card. Staci Rivera Stampin Up! StampinUp SU

I issued myself a card challenge. I have card kits left over from various card classes. So I perused through the kits I had, picked one, and challenged myself to make a different card using the kit contents.

I needed a sympathy card so I went with the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases.

I also used the matching thinlits to cut the embellishments in copper leaves. I also used the thinlits to create the leaves.

Sending Love Sneak Peek

Sealed With Love from Stampin' Up! occasions catalog. Sneak peek. Staci Rivera stampinup SU

I went to OnStage in Phoenix at the beginning of the month. It was so much fun! It was my first Stampin’ Up! event. One of the best parts was seeing new product from the upcoming occasions catalog. This is going to be a fun catalog!

One of the perks of attending OnStage is the ability to order products from the catalog really early. So I ordered a bundle from the Sending Love suite.

It’s going to be a perfect Valentine’s bundle but will also work all year long for when you need an “I Love You” note for someone special.

This suite includes a stamp set, matching framelits, wooden elements, adorable little paper clips, glassine sheets, ribbon, and the gorgeous red and white paper that you see here. What fun!

November Class Cards

I showed sneak peeks of these cards previously. Now for the big reveal.

Here is the first card we completed:

Christmas Card featuring the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and framelits. Staci Rivera Stampin Up SU

I cut the tree from the Fancy Frost Specialty paper and then colored it with Emerald Envy Ink using a sponge dauber. When using a sponge or sponge dauber, be sure to place your paper on top of a scrap paper and begin sponging the scrap paper and work your way onto the Fancy Frost paper in swirls. Otherwise you’ll leave a strong sponge shaped mark on your pretty tree.

This card came together pretty quickly once the pieces were cut.

Here is the second card we completed:

Christmas Card featuring the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and framelits. Staci Rivera Stampin Up SU

Aren’t the pinecones darling? Did I say that on the last card I used these on? Probably. LOL!

My tip for this card- Cut the suede layer to the measurements needed for the card, then center the sleigh when stamping and cutting. Then this layer can be used as a mat under the white layer. The white layer covers the negative space that has been cut away. How cool is that?! I discovered that by accident. How fortuitous!

The girls really enjoyed making these cards. I hope you enjoyed seeing them.

Have a cleverly creative day!
